Markus Landerer (* 1976 in Morondava , Madagascar ) is a German conductor and cathedral music director at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna .

Live and act

Landerer completed studies in church music, choir conducting and orchestral conducting at the music academies in Munich and Stuttgart ( organ with Harald Feller , choir direction with Michael Gläser , conducting with Per Borin ). He also attended master classes with Frieder Bernius , Eric Ericson , Peter Gülke , Marco Letonja and Johannes Kalitzke .

From 2002 to 2006, Landerer was Kapellmeister at St. Nikolaus Cathedral in Feldkirch ( Vorarlberg ). From 2004 on he was director of the Bregenz Festival choir for four years . Since 2007 he has been the director of St. Stephen's Cathedral Music in Vienna.

Until 2011, Landerer was also a professor of choral conducting, conducting and Gregorian chant at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory .

Landerer has conducted numerous orchestras and ensembles in several operas and a large symphonic repertoire, including world premieres.
