Career

After his youth at TSV Brunnthal and TSV Ottobrunn , Oberleitner received a contract with regional league team SpVgg Unterhaching in 1994 , played 34 games and scored 9 goals. After his first season he rose to the 2nd Bundesliga with the Munich suburbs and achieved a remarkable fourth place with them. He made his second division debut on August 5, 1995 (1st matchday) in a 1-1 draw in the home game against SV Meppen ; He scored his first professional goal 14 days later, on the 4th matchday in a 2-0 win in the away game against Fortuna Cologne .

In 1996/97 he was officially part of Bayern's Bundesliga squad , but did not play a single competitive game. His most famous was the 2-0 on matchday 34 of the 1999/2000 season against Bayer 04 Leverkusen : his header, 18 minutes before the end of the game, decided the game in favor of Unterhaching on the one hand, and on the other hand he made Bayern Munich (the at home 3: 1 against Werder Bremen ) finally to the champions .

After relegation in 2001 he moved to SpVgg Greuther Fürth , for which he only played two second division games. He then completed two seasons in Austria for the newly promoted Bundesliga club FC Kärnten .
