Markus Schiefer

Markus Schiefer (* 1960 in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate ) is a German Catholic theologian.

Life

After graduating from high school near St. Stephan in 1980 , he studied Catholic theology and mathematics for teaching at high schools at the University of Munich from 1982 to 1987 . In 1987 he passed the first state examination for teaching at grammar schools in Catholic theology and mathematics. After receiving his doctorate in 1990 as Dr. theol. With Joachim Gnilka (Chair for New Testament Exegesis and Biblical Hermeneutics) at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, he completed the traineeship for teaching at grammar schools in the subjects of Catholic religious studies and mathematics at the Holbein grammar school in Augsburg , grammar school near St. Stephan in Augsburg , Paul-Klee-Gymnasium Gersthofen and Leonhard-Wagner-Gymnasium . After the second state examination in 1992 for teaching at secondary schools in Catholic theology and mathematics he was from 1992 to 1999 teacher at the high school Königsbrunn . From 1999 to 2005 he was an academic councilor or senior counselor at the chair for didactics of Catholic religious instruction and religious education ( Fritz Weidmann ) at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Augsburg . From 2005 to 2007 he represented the professorship for Catholic theology with a focus on Biblical Theology and Exegesis of the New Testament at the Institute for Catholic Theology of the University of Koblenz-Landau , Campus Landau, which he took over as professor in May 2007.
