Markus Steiner (bourgeois Markus Schaupensteiner , born February 12, 1972 in Graz ) is an Austrian singer and songwriter in the field of hit music .

Life

Steiner grew up in Lebring in southern Styria until he was 18 years old . There he attended the local music school as a child. In 1989 he moved to Upper Styria, where he graduated from the Federal Commercial Academy in Liezen in 1993. After training as an academically certified insurance salesman at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz, after a successfully completed admission procedure, he switched to the private radio Antenne Steiermark , where he worked as a news anchor for four years.

Musical career

After appearing on the ORF show “Die große Chance” in 2012, Steiner was signed by producer Walter Wessely in 2013. This was followed by the publications of the self-written titles “So nah”, “1000 Meilen”, “Not a second time”, “We celebrate this life”, “Since I'm at home”, “My second self” and the title “Let them fly ”, the official anthem for the 2016 Ski Flying World Championships on the Kulm . The performance of the official World Cup song, a duet with the song contest representative and Starmania winner Nadine Beiler , was broadcast live on television in front of thousands of people in the Kulm Stadium and an audience of millions, and not just for the opening of the World Cup on January 14, 2016 , with him Steiner also reached number 1 in the Austrian airplay charts (determined by Music Trace Austria / Pl. 1 / chart week 2/2016).
