Markus Steiner (politician)

Markus Steiner (born October 16, 1987 in Mittersill ) is an Austrian politician ( FPÖ or FPS ). From 2015 to 2018 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament .

Life

Markus Steiner attended the federal high school in Zell am See after primary school in Niedernsill , and in 2007 he graduated from the commercial academy in Zell am See. From 2008 he studied at the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) in the field of Management, Communication & IT, Business Informatics , graduating in 2013 with a Master of Arts . He has been a trainee tax consultant since 2013 .

From 2010 to 2015 he was regional chairman of the Salzburger Ring Freiheitlicher Jugend (RFJ). In October 2013, Steiner was elected to succeed Rosemarie Blattl as FPÖ district chairman in Pinzgau , a position he held until 2015. He has been a member of the Niedernsill municipal council since 2014.

On July 8, 2015, he was also sworn in to succeed Rosemarie Blattl in the 15th legislative period as a member of the Salzburg state parliament. His political work focuses on youth, financial policy, foreign and European policy, South Tyrol, science and research. After the state elections in Salzburg in 2018 , he left the state parliament.
