Marlies Ahlert

Marlies Ahlert (born May 23, 1953 in Erpen ) is a German economist . She is a professor of economics , especially microeconomics and finance at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and former chairwoman of the German Society for Experimental Economic Research .

Academic career

From 1971 to 1977 Ahlert studied mathematics with a minor in economics at Bielefeld University . In 1980 she did her doctorate in mathematics in Bielefeld. She then studied at the universities of Cologne and Bielefeld with the aim of studying for a state examination for teaching in mathematics and social sciences . In 1990 she achieved a doctorate to Dr. rer. pole. in the field of negotiation theory . In 1994 she completed her habilitation with Venia Legendi in economics with Wulf Gaertner and won the habilitation award from the Osnabrück Scientific Society.

Since October 1, 1996, Ahlert has held the chair for economics , especially microeconomics and finance, at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg .

From 1999 to 2004 she was chairwoman of the Society for Experimental Economic Research . Marlies Ahlert completed numerous research stays, including at Tulane University and at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research at Bielefeld University .

To Ahlerts research interests include health economics (esp. Prioritization in health care), bargaining theory , game theory , experimental economics , distributive justice.
