March for the family 2018

The march for the family is a demonstration that has been held every year since 2012 as a counter-event to the Rainbow Parade in Vienna .

The event is organized by the “Platform Family”, to which various groups such as B. the association "Pro Vita", the Vienna Academic Association , the Christian party Upper Austria, the association Occident and Human Life International belong. The majority of the supporting associations are conservative Christianity , but some are also close to the New Right .

The rally is directed against gender mainstreaming , abortion , gay marriage , an adoption right for same-sex couples and early sexualization . Instead, a traditional family image and heteronormative gender roles are propagated .

Speakers include Ján Čarnogurský , Marcus Franz , Ursula Stenzel , Alfons Adam , Georg Immanuel Nagel, Emanuel Aydin, Auxiliary Bishop Andreas Laun , Martin Lohmann , Heinrich Wohlmeyer and Christian Zeitz.
