Marsden Madoka

Marsden Herman Madoka (born March 15, 1943 in Mwatate , Coast Province , Kenya ) is a Kenyan politician who was Foreign Minister between 2001 and 2003.

Life

Madoka joined the Kenya Defense Forces after completing his education at Hospital Hill Primary School and Shimo La Tewa High School and was promoted to captain on December 12, 1964 . Among other things, he was aide-de-camp of President Jomo Kenyatta and retired from active military service as a major in 1974 .

He then switched to business and in 1974 became personnel manager of the company SUCS / EABL and also managing director of the company EABL. In September 1983 he became a member of the University Students Accommodation Board , a body responsible for managing student accommodation and canteens at the University of Nairobi . In February 1985 he also became a member of the Pension Appeals Tribunal , a four-member military tribunal that dealt with appeals against army ducks.

In the parliamentary elections on December 29, 1997 Madoka was elected as a candidate of the Kenya African National Union (KANU) for the first time to the National Assembly and represented the constituency of Mwatate until the elections on December 27, 2007 . In the meantime he was re-elected in the parliamentary elections on December 27, 2002.

Shortly afterwards, in 1998, President Daniel Arap Moi appointed him Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security. As part of a government reshuffle , he succeeded Chris Obure as Foreign Minister in 2001 and held this position until he was replaced by Kalonzo Musyoka in 2003.
