Martín Alaníz , full name Diego Martín Alaníz Ávila , (born February 19, 1993 in Melo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.75 meter tall midfielder Alaníz was at the beginning of his career until January 2013 in the ranks of the Uruguayan club Juventud, based in Las Piedras . From there he moved that month to league rivals River Plate Montevideo . In the remainder of the 2012/13 season he ran ten times in the Primera División . He didn't score a goal. In the following season he played another 25 first division games and scored three goals. He was also used in three games of the Copa Sudamericana 2013 . After the Clausura 2014 he left the Montevideans and joined the Mexican club Monarcas Morelia on loan . In the 2014/15 season he was used 14 times (two goals) in the Primera División . In January 2015 River Plate Montevideo loaned Alaníz to the Argentine first division club Argentinos Juniors . There he played in six first division games and one game (no goal) of the Copa Argentina . He returned to River Plate Montevideo in July 2015. He has since played nine league games and scored two goals. In December 2015, he switched to Chapecoense as part of a loan deal to Brazil . There he was used three times (no goal) in the state championship of Santa Catarina and twice (no goal) in the Copa do Brasil . Another loan followed at the end of July 2016. This time the receiving club was Real Oviedo . With the Spaniards, he completed five league games (no goal) and one game (no goal) in the Copa del Rey . In mid-January 2017, the Uruguayan first division team Racing Club de Montevideo loaned him . For the Montevideans, he ran in six first division games (one goal). Mid March 2017 joined another loan deal with the now in Guayaquil City FC renamed Club Deportivo River Ecuador on. So far (as of July 15, 2017) he made 14 first division appearances with the Ecuadorians and scored six goals.
