The Martin-Butzer-Gymnasium is a grammar school in Dierdorf , which is sponsored by the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland .

history

The school is first mentioned in a document from 1781 which mentions a princely Latin school in Dierdorf. During the National Socialist period of rule, the then Protestant Rectorate School was nationalized in 1939, which was repealed when it was taken over by church sponsorship in 1949. With the acceptance into church sponsorship, the construction of an evangelical student hostel, which formed the basis for the boarding school attached to the school, went hand in hand. After the transition to state church sponsorship in 1952, the first matriculation examination at the Martin-Butzer-Gymnasium followed in 1955 . In 1980 expansions were made that made a two-course possible. After a further expansion in 1991, the school gained the triad.

statistics

Today the school has five classes. In 2015/16 91 teachers and trainee teachers are teaching around 1200 students, 300 of whom are in the orientation level , 600 in the intermediate level and 300 in the upper level .
