Hans Volkart

Hans Volkart (born April 10, 1895 in Stuttgart ; † August 4, 1965 there ) was a German architect and university professor .

Life

Hans Volkart's parents were Swiss. He studied architecture at the Technical University of Stuttgart , graduating in 1919. After working in Paul Bonatz's architectural office , he set up his own office in 1924. Some buildings were created in collaboration with Paul Trüdinger. From 1926 to 1933 Volkart taught at the Stuttgart State Building School . After he was appointed professor at the Technical University of Stuttgart, he taught building theory and design there until 1962. From 1946 to 1948, together with Karl Gonser , he created the designs for the reconstruction of Heilbronn's old town .
