Martin Davídek (born December 31, 1966 in Prague ) is a Czech Roman Catholic priest and church attorney and vicar general of the diocese of Leitmeritz .

Life

After graduating from high school, Martin Davídek trained in typography (1985) and worked as an editor, preparing books and magazines for printing. In 1995 he prepared for the priesthood at the Theological Propaedeutic Course in Litoměřice and continued his studies at the Catholic Theological Faculty of Charles University in Prague until he graduated in 2001. In the same year he was ordained a deacon and appointed prefect at the theological preparatory course in Litoměřice. He taught fundamental theology . On June 29, 2002 he was ordained a priest by Bishop Josef Koukl in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Leitmeritz .

He became chaplain at St. Stephen's Cathedral and supervised a. a. St. Stephen's Hospice in Litoměřice. At the same time he became the director of the diocesan house of Cardinal Trochta . In 2003 he moved from Litoměřice to Děčín , where he became parish administrator. He looked after the Vietnamese community and the local community of Hřensko . At the end of 2005 he became secretary of Bishop Pavel Posád , and since 2008 he has also been secretary of his successor Jan Baxant .

He was also the spokesman for the diocese of Leitmeritz and was a member of the editorial committee of the Catholic weekly magazine. From 2008–2009 he was the editor of the Zdislava magazine . From 2009 to 2012 he studied Canon Law at the Lateran University in Rome . Since 2011 he has been a member of the cathedral chapter of St. Stephan in Leitmeritz. In 2012 he was appointed Episcopal Vicar for pastoral matters.

Since February 1, 2013 he has been working as a parish administrator in Libochovany . On March 1, 2013, he was appointed judge at the Prague Metropolitan Ecclesiastical Court . On January 1, 2015, he took over the office of church attorney (Promotor iustitiae) and defender of marriage bonds (Defensor vinculi) at the church court of the Leitmeritz diocese.

On June 22nd, 2016 he was appointed vicar general of the diocese of Litoměřice by Bishop Baxant. He took office on July 1, 2016.
