Martin Henglein

Martin Henglein (born December 20, 1882 in Sonderriet , † March 9, 1963 in Karlsruhe ) was a German mineralogist .

Henglein studied at the universities of Darmstadt , Heidelberg and Freiberg . In 1909 he was with the thesis About crystal forms of anatase to Dr. phil. PhD . In 1911 he completed his habilitation at the Bergakademie in Freiberg . After the First World War he became an associate professor or later an extraordinary professor for crystallography and mineral chemistry at the TH Karlsruhe in 1917 .

Martin Henglein published, among other things, about the heavy spar of the Freiberg mountain district, the ore and mineral deposits of the central Black Forest and the rocks of the Sudetenland on both sides of the Elbe .

Since 1902, Henglein was a member of the Zaringia Heidelberg Landsmannschaft . In 1961 he became an honorary member of the Upper Rhine Geological Association (OGV) .
