Martin Honecker (philosopher)

Martin Honecker (born June 9, 1888 in Bonn , † October 20, 1941 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German psychologist and philosopher .

Life

As the son of a businessman, he studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München a . a. with Adolf Dyroff . 1914 Honecker was with the theme The legal philosophy of Alessandro Turamini doctorate . As a soldier in the First World War he moved to French prisoner of war in the Swiss internment .

Even during the internment, he began his postdoctoral thesis subject Logic logic with which he was at the University of Bonn in 1921 habilitated . In 1924 he took over the chair from Josef Geyser in Freiburg im Breisgau as a full professor.

From 1925 to 1929 he held the position of General Secretary of the Görres Foundation . From 1925 to 1926 he and others edited the quarterly journal for scientific pedagogy , as well as research on the history of modern philosophy and, from 1930, the philosophical reference library .

During the Second World War he held the post of army psychologist at General Command V in Stuttgart .

His son Raimund Honecker is a retired nuclear physicist at RWTH Aachen University .
