Martin Krebs (Admiral)

Martin Krebs (born July 26, 1955 ) is a rear admiral in the German Navy, out of service . His last assignment was Vice President of the Federal Office for Personnel Management of the Bundeswehr in Cologne .

Life

Krebs joined the German Navy in July 1974 and did the usual training as an officer at the Mürwik Naval School , on the sailing training ship Gorch Fock and the training ship Deutschland . From October 1975 he studied electrical engineering at the Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg and graduated with a degree in engineering . From January 1979 he continued his officer training A at schools of the Navy.

From October 1983 to September 1985, Krebs was Lieutenant Commander of the Hermes submarine . As frigate captain, he led the frigate Rhineland-Palatinate from June 1994 to March 1997 .

From April 2002, Krebs was head of the Center for Recruiting North in Hanover . In May 2005 he became department head III in the personnel office of the Bundeswehr in Cologne . In October 2007 he became Head of Division 5 in the planning staff of the Federal Ministry of Defense in Berlin . In 2010, as captain at sea, he became deputy commander and director of courses at the command and control academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg . In July 2011, Krebs was promoted to Flotilla Admiral.

From October 2012 to May 2015 he was employed as Sub-Department Head II in the Personnel Department at the Federal Ministry of Defense in Bonn. From May 2015 to March 2019, Krebs was Vice President at the Federal Office for Personnel Management of the Bundeswehr in Cologne . He handed over this post to Brigadier General Gunter Schneider at the end of March 2019 and retired after 44 years of service.
