Martin Meißner (Author)

Martin Meißner (born August 4, 1943 in Lockstedt near Klötze ) is a German writer .

Live and act

Meißner is the son of a wheelwright and a postal worker and studied education at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig from 1961 to 1965 . He then worked as a teacher for German and geography in Diesdorf , Burg and Klötze. From 1968 to 1970 he studied at the literature institute "Johannes R. Becher" .

In 1972 he began to publish books for children and adolescents, mainly at Kinderbuchverlag Berlin . Due to his many years of activity from 1979 at a speech therapy school , he wrote mainly about children on the edge of society.

From 1984 to 1989 Meißner worked as a freelancer. For several years he was chairman of the Association of German Writers in Saxony-Anhalt and is a member of the Friedrich-Bödecker-Kreis Saxony-Anhalt .

After 1990 Meißner was the deputy mayor of the city of Klötze and head of the social welfare office.

He lives in Lockstedt near Klötze and is the father of four children.
