Martin Schläpfer (journalist)

Martin Schläpfer (born September 27, 1955 in Schaffhausen ) is a Swiss journalist and lobbyist .

Working life

Schläpfer completed an internship at Schaffhauser Nachrichten in 1977 , then worked as a regional editor and attended the Ringier journalism school in Zofingen . From 1985 he was the Federal Palace editor for various daily newspapers, first for the Schaffhauser Nachrichten and the Zürichsee-Zeitung . In 1989 he switched to the newly founded monthly magazine “Politik und Wirtschaft”. He then wrote about economic policy for the business magazine Bilanz , where he later became deputy editor-in-chief . For seven years he was also the presenter of the Bilanz Business Talk, which was broadcast on Swiss television .

From 2003 to the end of 2018 he headed the Economic Policy Directorate at the Federation of Migros Cooperatives . As a lobbyist there, he was responsible for Migros' economic policy dossiers and represented them in politics, as his predecessors Monika Weber and Walter Biel did.
