Martin Schneider (politician, 1892)

Martin Schneider (born October 22, 1892 in Karthaus ; † July 14, 1967 ) was a Hessian politician ( all-German bloc / Federation of Expellees and Disenfranchised ) and former member of the Hessian state parliament .

After graduating from high school, Martin Schneider completed a degree in shipbuilding in Danzig and then did military service, where he was wounded several times. During the First World War he served in the Baltic States and the Eastern Border Guard . After the war he studied at the commercial college and university in Königsberg and graduated in 1922 as a business graduate. Until 1924 he was managing director, later an independent business consultant. He also did military service in World War II and was wounded. He then served in the Todt Organization (OT).

After the end of the war, investigations into crimes against humanity were initiated in connection with Schneider's work at the OT , but the public prosecutor closed it for lack of evidence.

In 1953 he was involved in founding the technical relief organization and became its chairman of a regional sub-association.

In 1949 he was one of the founders of the Democratic Electoral Community in the Waldeck district , and later he joined the GB / BHE. Municipal politics he was in Korbach 1952-1958 City Council , 1949-1952 city councilor and 1956-1960 council deputy . From February 18, 1955 to November 30, 1958, he was a member of the Hessian state parliament as a replacement for Gustav Hacker .
