Martin Trunz (born May 2, 1970 ) is a former Swiss ski jumper .

Trunz, who started for the Brunnadern Ski Club, began his career in the Ski Jumping World Cup in February 1990 with three competitions in Switzerland. He did his first jumping on February 7, 1990 in St. Moritz . A year later he took part in the 1991 Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme . Trunz jumped from the normal hill to 25th and from the large hill to 48th place. In the team competition, he jumped to 6th place together with Benz Hauswirth , Yvan Vouillamoz and Stephan Zünd . At the start of the 1991/92 World Cup season , he jumped to 9th place in both competitions in Thunder Bay and thus won his first World Cup points. On January 12, 1992, he jumped on the podium for the first time in the team competition in Predazzo together with Sylvain Freiholz , Yvan Vouillamoz and Stephan Zünd. However, he was unable to build on this success either in the team or in individual jumping.

At the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, Trunz was part of the Swiss squad and jumped from the normal hill to 41st and from the large hill to 31st place. In the team competition he jumped to 8th place together with Markus Gähler , Sylvain Freiholz and Stephan Zünd.

The jumping after the games were unsuccessful for Trunz. Despite this, he finished the season in 23rd place in the overall World Cup standings. He could no longer build on this success. In the following four years he mostly only got mediocre placements. Point wins were rather rare. At the Ski Flying World Championships in Harrachov in 1992 Trunz flew again to 6th place. Despite lack of success he was part of the squad for the Nordic World Ski Championships 1993 in Swedish Falun . He jumped to 38th place on the normal hill and 26th place on the large hill. At the 1994 Winter Olympics , Trunz, who meanwhile jumped in the World Cup and the Continental Cup at the same time, started again on the normal and large hill. However, he only reached 40th place on the normal hill and 51st place on the large hill.

In the last two years of his active ski jumping career, he was unsuccessful in the World Cup, Continental Cup and World Championships. He then ended his active career after the end of the 1995/96 season.
