Martin Urtel

Peter Martin Urtel (born August 25, 1914 in Berlin , † January 16, 1989 in Sommerhausen ) was a German actor .

Live and act

After training as a graphic artist at the Weimar Art Academy , he attended the drama school of the Berlin State Theater . Gustaf Gründgens gave him his first stage roles there from 1932 to 1935. He lived with the actor Ernst Kuhr .

In 1937 he went to Munich and appeared at the Kammerspiele there, where he stayed until the end of the war. From 1941 he was seen in feature films, where he portrayed honest, straightforward young men and admirers without putting himself in the limelight.

In post-war Germany he gave numerous guest appearances at various theaters. In film, he now embodied notables of all kinds such as doctors ( Magdalena, possessed by the devil ) and priests ( Trumpets of Love , The Last Ride to Santa Cruz ). Most recently he was mainly a television actor.
