Ernst Kuhr

Ernst Kuhr (born May 13, 1912 in Herne , † September 3, 1999 in Munich ) was a German actor , director and voice actor .

Born in the Ruhr area , Kuhr became an actor. After stints in Stuttgart, Kaiserslautern, Karlsruhe-Durlach (Naturtheater am Lerchenberg) in 1933, Weimar and Breslau in 1936, the sought-after actor was also hired as a voice actor. His other activities were directing, where he directed several Swiss premieres at the Basel Theater. Around 1970 he also appeared increasingly in cinema and TV films. He lived with the actor Peter Martin Urtel and died in Munich. He was buried in Sommerhausen near Würzburg, where he had lived in the so-called Blue Tower , a historic building in the city wall, since the 1930s .
