Gerald Hiken
Gerald Hiken (born May 23, 1927 in Milwaukee , Wisconsin ) is an American actor .
Life
Hiken began his acting career in 1947 at the Linden Circle Theater in Milwaukee. He played off-Broadway for the first time in 1955 and made his Broadway debut the following year in the original production of The Lovers by Leslie Stevens . For his portrayal in the production of Uncle Vanya , Hiken received the Clarence Derwent Award for Most Promising Actor in 1956 , and he also received the award for best supporting actor at the Obie Award ceremony, which took place for the first time that year . By the late 1980s he was seen in numerous on and off Broadway productions, and he also appeared in London's West End . He made his debut there in 1965 as Andrej in Anton Chekhov's drama The Three Sisters at the Aldwych Theater .
Hiken rarely appeared in feature films; his roles were also mostly minor supporting roles. Among other things, he starred alongside Lloyd Bridges in John Cromwell's Oscar- nominated drama The Goddess in 1958 . In 1964 he worked alongside Yul Brynner and George Segal in the western meeting place for two pistols . Other films he has made include Death , Bill McKay - The Candidate, and Reds . For three decades, Hiken was a guest star on numerous American television series, from Bonanza to Simon & Simon to Cheers . In 1989 he retired from the acting business, his last film role he played alongside Paul Newman in Die Schattenmacher .
Hiken has been married since 1961 and the marriage resulted in a daughter.
