Magdalena - obsessed by the devil is a German horror film from 1974. The film, directed by Walter Boos under the pseudonym Michael Walter , had its first cinema showing on May 22, 1974.
action
Magdalena is brought up in an institution. However, the nice girl turns into a mean, obscene and sexually obsessed when she becomes the host of a demon. People who deal with it are in danger; solid objects become objects in flight. After the professors fail to resolve the case, a priest tries to heal Magdalena. Under hypnosis, the demon reveals himself, who escapes the girl's body as a black snake under the command of a prayer and is trodden on by a doctor.
criticism
“It is applied thickly, often too thick to make visible (...) the demonic. What is the point of such a film (apart from the ostensible speculative greed of the people, which we want to refrain from), if not to provoke a private statement on negative aspects of diabolical "activity"? "
"Sex film disguised as" dealing with the exorcism "without level."
Remarks
The film tried, like many other productions of the time, to profit from the success of the box office hit The Exorcist . At the box office it was a great success and grossed at least eight million at production costs of one million Deutschmarks.
With Rudolf Schündler one of the actors from playing The Exorcist in this rip-off .
