Wilhelm Kutta
Martin Wilhelm Kutta , called Wilhelm Kutta, (born November 3, 1867 in Pitschen , Upper Silesia , † December 25, 1944 in Fürstenfeldbruck ) was a German mathematician .
From 1885 to 1890 he studied at the University of Breslau , then until 1894 at the University of Munich . From 1894 to 1897 Kutta was Walther von Dyck's assistant at the Technical University of Munich . In 1898 he spent half a year at Cambridge University . From 1899 to 1909 Kutta was again assistant to Walther von Dyck at the Technical University of Munich.
He then worked from 1909 to 1910 as an associate professor at the University of Jena , from 1910 to 1912 he was an associate professor at the RWTH Aachen .
In 1912 Kutta became a full professor at the Technical University of Stuttgart and stayed there until his retirement in 1935.
In 1901, based on an article by Carl Runge, he developed the Runge-Kutta method for solving common differential equations.
