Martina Šamadan (born September 11, 1993 in Split ) is a Croatian volleyball player .

Career

Šamadan studied from 2012 to 2015 first at Virginia Commonwealth University and then at Seattle University . After completing her studies, she went to Romania in 2016 and played for CS Volei Alba-Blaj . The middle blocker was active at HAOK Mladost Zagreb in the 2017/18 season . With the Croatian national team , she took part in the European Golden League and the World Cup in Japan in 2018 . In the 2018/19 season she first played for Imoco Volley Conegliano in the Italian league . In January 2019, however, she was signed by league rival Yamamay Busto Arsizio . The club won the CEV Cup , but Šamadan was not used because of their previous involvement in Conegliano. In the summer, the Croatian moved to the German champions Allianz MTV Stuttgart .

At the beginning of her career she also played beach volleyball . In 2011 she took part in the U20 European Championships in Tel Aviv-Jaffa with Zrinka Šutalo . With Jea Turić she won the Croatian junior championship in 2012. In 2013 she took part in the U23 World Cup in Mysłowice with Sara Radanović .
