Holzner grew up in the Losheim district of Britten and trained as an educator between 1992 and 1996 . She worked in this profession for four more years and then became head of a day care center for the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO). In 2016, Holzner became divisional manager for day-care centers at AWO in the region around Merzig, Saarlouis and Völklingen ; Holzner ended this activity when he took over the state parliament mandate in 2017.
