Mary Knisely
Mary Knisely (born Schilly; born May 29, 1959 ) is a former American long-distance runner .
In 1985 she came in 28th place at the World Cross Country Championships in Lisbon and came second at the Athletics World Cup in Canberra . The following year she was third in the Freihofer's Run for Women .
In 1987 she contributed to winning the gold medal for the US team at the World Cross Country Championships in Warsaw with a 14th place. She won over 3000 m at the Pan American Games in Indianapolis and was tenth at the World Athletics Championships in Rome .
In 1989 she was third in the Columbus Marathon and in 1990 sixth in the Chicago Marathon .
In 1999 she qualified with a seventh place in the Cleveland Marathon for the US elimination for the 2000 Olympic Marathon, in which she ran in 21st place. That same year she finished eleventh in the Chicago Marathon , and in 2001 she finished 13th in the Twin Cities Marathon .
In 1986 and 1987 she was US champion over 3000 m.
