Masahiro Yanagida ( Japanese 柳 田 将 洋 , Yanagida Masahiro ; born July 6, 1992 in Edogawa , Tokyo ) is a Japanese volleyball player .

Career

Yanagida started playing volleyball at the age of seven. After graduating from Tōyō High School in Chiyoda , he began studying at Keiō University in 2011 . In 2013, the outside attacker made his debut for the Japanese national team . In 2014 he moved to Osaka for the first division club Suntory Sunbirds. With the national team he was sixth at the World Cup . In the same year he was Asian champion . In 2017 he played with Japan in the world league and was again Asian champion. He was then the first Japanese player to be signed by the German Bundesliga club Volleyball Bisons Bühl . With the club he reached the DVV Cup final before Bühl was eliminated as eighth in the quarter-finals of the Bundesliga playoffs . With Japan he took part in the Nations League 2018 . At the World Cup , the team retired after the first group stage in the same year. Then Yanagida moved to the Polish first division club Cuprum Lubin . In 2019 he was signed by the Bundesliga club United Volleys Frankfurt . He played with Japan at the 2019 World Cup .
