The Maserati Alfieri is a Gran Turismo from the Italian car manufacturer Maserati . It was presented as a concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2014 , the sales release planned for 2016 was postponed to 2020 so that the Maserati Levante could be sold from 2016 .

It was named after Alfieri Maserati (1887–1932), one of the five Maserati brothers, and marks the centenary of the Maserati brand. The design was created in the Maserati Centro Stile in Turin . The chief designer was Marco Tencone, the exterior was designed by Giovanni Ribotta. The project was led by Lorenzo Ramaciotti (* 1948), he has been director of Centro Stile since 2017 and was head of the Fiat-Chrysler global design department in 2014.

The study of the Alfieri uses design elements from the Maserati A6 GCS / 54 , which was designed by Pininfarina in 1954 . It is based on the chassis of the lighter Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale with a wheelbase shortened by 24 cm, a limited-slip differential and a 4.7-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine derived from Ferrari.

Production was supposed to start in 2016, but was postponed to 2020 at the earliest. The production version received three V6 engines, they developed 306 kW (416 PS), 336 kW (457 PS), and 388 kW (528 PS). The 457-hp and 528-hp versions will only be available with all-wheel drive . A convertible will be available from 2021. An electrically powered version is not planned for 2021 at the earliest.
