Masliwka ( Ukrainian Маслівка ; Russian Масловка Maslowka , Polish Masłówka ) is a village in the south of the Ukrainian Oblast of Kiev with about 1900 inhabitants (2001).
Masliwka is the only resort of the same name, 51.88 km² District Municipality in the east of Rajon Myronivka on the border with Rajon Kaniv of Cherkasy Oblast .
According to a legend , the village, first mentioned in writing in 1622 under the name “Masliv Staw” ( Маслів Став ), is located in the place of the old fortress town of Loev, which was destroyed by the Tatars. A map from 1650 shows the village as a fortified place. In the 17th century the place was an important meeting place for the leaders of the Cossacks , who held council here.
The village is located on the right bank of the dammed Rossava ( Росава ), a 90 km long left tributary of the Ros , 16 km northeast of the Rajon center Myroniwka and about 110 km south of the Oblast center Kiev .
The regional road P-09 runs through the village .
