Masoud Mahmoud Esmailpourjouybari (born August 6, 1988 ) is an Iranian wrestler . In 2014 he was runner-up in the free style world championship in the weight class up to 61 kg.

Career

Masoud Esmailporjouybari began wrestling as a teenager in 2001. He concentrated on the free style. He wrestles with a height of 1.70 meters in the weight class up to 60 kg (feather weight) or 61 kg body weight. He is a student, belongs to the Khadem wrestling club and is trained by the former world champion Rasoul Khadem .

He made his first start at international wrestling championships in August 2004 at the Asian Junior Championship (Cadets) in Bishkek. He took 4th place in the weight class up to 50 kg. In 2005 he won his first international championship title at the same championship in Oarai / Japan in the weight class up to 54 kg. In September 2006 he took part in the Junior World Championships in Guatemala City. In the bantamweight division he lost his first fight against Murtas Kwesadze from Georgia, dropped out and only came in 16th place. His most successful year as a junior wrestler was in 2008. First he was Asian junior featherweight champion in Doha and then he was also junior world champion in the same weight class in Istanbul.

In 2009 Masoud Esmailpourjouybari was used for the first time in an international championship in the senior sector. He came in at the Asian Championship in Pattaya in featherweight behind Jo Tong-hyok, North Korea and Gandsorigiin Mandachnaran , Mongolia on the 3rd place. In 2010 he was the first Asian featherweight champion in New Delhi. He referred Shogo Maeda, Japan, Lee Seung-chul, South Korea and Dauren Schumagasiew, Kazakhstan to the next places. In 2012 he took second place at the Asian Championships in Gumi / South Korea in featherweight behind Yogeshwar Dutt from India. In March 2012, he then qualified for the Olympic Games in London at the tournament in Astana. He referred the featherweight Yogeshwar Dutt, Ulan Nadyrbek Uulu, Kyrgyzstan and Farchodi Usmoonzoda, Tajikistan, to the places. At the Olympic wrestling tournament in London, Masoud Esmailpourjouybari began featherweight victories over Guillermo Torres Cervantes, Mexico and Dauren Schumagaliew. But then he lost in the quarterfinals against Besik Kuduchow from Russia. Since this reached the final, he was able to continue in the consolation round, but lost to Yogeshwar Dutt, which he was finally eliminated and took seventh place.

In May 2013, Masoud Esmailpourjouybari was also on the Iranian team that played international matches against the United States and Russia in New York and aimed to convince the International Olympic Committee that wrestling remains an Olympic sport.

In June 2013 he became Iranian featherweight champion ahead of Abbas Dabaaghi and Farzad Jafari. In September 2013 he took part in the World Championships in Budapest. In the featherweight he won there over Hacı Əliyev , Azerbaijan, Krzysztof Bienkowski, Poland and Reece Humphrey, United States. Then he lost to Bekchan Goigerejew , Russia, but was able to fight for a bronze medal in the World Cup with a victory in the consolation round over Artur Arakeljan, Armenia.

In April 2014 he was again Asian champion in the weight class up to 61 kg in Almaty ahead of Bajrang Bajrang, India, Daulet Nijasbekow, Kazakhstan and Narmandachyn Lchamgarmaa , Mongolia. At the World Championships in Tashkent in September 2014, he was one of the favorites in his weight class. He also lived up to this role, although he could not win the title. In Tashkent, he defeated Mikola Bolotnjuk, Slovakia, Enchsaichany Njam-Otschir , Mongolia, Vladimir Dubov from Bulgaria, the 2013 vice world champion and Artas Sana from Kazakhstan. In the final he met Hacı Əliyev, whom he had just beaten 9: 8 points at the 2013 World Cup. This time he had to give Hacı Əliyev the victory in a gripping and exciting fight with 7:12 points. He became vice world champion.
