Massimo Laura
Massimo Laura (* 1957 in Sanremo ) is an Italian concert guitarist .
Life
Massimo Laura studied at the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Milan and with Oscar Ghiglia in Basel .
From 1980 he played at La Scala in Milan under the direction of Lorin Maazel , Riccardo Muti , Wolfgang Sawallisch , Roberto Abbado , Carlos Kleiber and Giuseppe Sinopoli , among others .
Massimo Laura plays both solo concerts and orchestral concerts on guitars made by the guitar maker Hermann Hauser I from 1929. His repertoire includes works by Italian composers such as Luciano Berio , Franco Donatoni and Goffredo Petrassi .
Laura produced two albums, Giochi and Carrilon , dedicated to the Italian guitar virtuoso Benvenuto Terzi .
Massimo Laura teaches at the Conservatory of Como and is head of the master class of the Conservatory in Lugano .
Laura has been performing as the Aranjuez Guitar Duo with the German guitarist Ulrich Steier since 2006 .
