Massimo Roscigno

Massimo Roscigno (* in Rome ) is an Italian diplomat . He has been the Italian Ambassador to the Philippines since 2013 .

Life

Roscigno made in 1977 at the University of Trieste a degree in law and a doctorate in 1979 in the degree program in European Studies at the University of La Sapienza in Rome.

He has been married to a Filipino woman since 1995 and has one daughter.

Diplomatic career

Massimo Roscigno entered the diplomatic service in 1981. Until 1982 he worked in the Directorate for Emigration and Social Affairs of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs , from 1982 to 1984 in the office of the Secretary General of the Ministry under Secretary General Francesco Malfatti di Montretto . Roscigno had his first foreign assignment from 1984 to 1988 as the first vice consul in the Italian consulate general in New York . From 1988 to 1992 he moved to the Italian embassy in Manila as counselor and deputy head of mission . In 1992 he was recalled to Italy and was a member of the Foreign Ministry's crisis team. From 1993 to 1995 he was Director General for Human Resources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His next assignment abroad took him to the embassy in Beirut as deputy head of mission .

From 1999 to 2003 Massimo Roscigno was Italian Consul General in Los Angeles , and from 2003 to 2006 Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2006 to 2010 he was consul general in Shanghai . From 2010 to 2013 he was back at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, first as Deputy Director for Asia and the Pacific, then as Director General for Globalization and International Relations, and finally as Deputy Chief of Protocol.

Since February 4, 2013 he has been the Italian ambassador to Manila. He has been co-accredited for Palau since November 26, 2013 .
