Masson-Goldner smooth muscle stain

The Masson-Goldner trichrome staining , histological trichrome staining method .

properties

Most variants of Masson-Goldner stain produce red-colored keratin and muscle fibers , blue or green collagen and bone , pink cytoplasm and brown-black cell nuclei . After fixation, the objects to be stained are immersed in iron trioxyhematein according to Hansen to stain the cell nuclei. This is followed by cytoplasmic staining with acid fuchsin and Ponceau 2R in an aqueous acetic acid solution. The next solution contains phosphotungstic acid . Finally, the protein fibers are colored with light green SF or Fast Green FCF . Alternatively, a blue coloration with methylene blue , water blue or aniline blue can be used. The addition of Orange G is used to color the erythrocytes .

variants

In the Masson-Goldner trichrome stain is used instead of iron Trioxyhämatein Hansen hematoxylin according to Weigert, the other color solutions are concentrated in the Masson variant, instead of phosphotungstic acid is there phosphomolybdic acid used and it contains no Orange G . The Lillie trichrome stain uses Biebrich's scarlet fever as the red dye . The Masson Trichrom & Verhoeff stain is a combination of stains that is used to stain blood vessels and to differentiate between arteries and veins , as the Verhoeff stain stains elastin black.

history

The Masson-Goldner trichrome stain was developed by Jacques Goldner in 1938 . It is a further development of the Masson trichrome staining .
