Mate Ghvinianidze ( Georgian მათე ღვინიანიძე ; born December 10, 1986 in Tbilisi , Georgian SSR ), FIFA spelling according to the English transcription Mate Ghvinianidze , is a former Georgian national soccer player .
career
society
Ghwinianidze began his career in the youth department of Dinamo Tbilisi . In January 2005 he switched to Lokomotiv Moscow .
In the summer of 2006 he did a four-week trial training session with the German second division club TSV 1860 Munich, mediated by Ralf Minge , the coach of the Georgian U-21 national team at the time . He then signed a contract until 2009, which was extended in November 2007 to 2011. By January 2011, he ran in 87 league games for 1860 and scored one goal. He was used eight times in the DFB Cup .
In early 2011 he moved to the Ukrainian first division club PFK Sevastopol , where he signed a contract until 2014. He then ended his career at the age of just 27.
National team
Ghwinianidze made his debut on October 7, 2006 in the Georgian national team when he was in the international match against the German selection on the starting line-up. Since then he has played nine games in the jersey of the Georgian Football Association . In 2009 he announced his resignation from the national team due to differences with national coach Héctor Cúper . In the summer of 2010 he was nominated again for the national team by the new coach Temur Kezbaia , but Ghwinianidze was no longer used due to injuries.
Injuries
In the course of his career so far Ghwinianidze often fell out due to injuries. In October 2006, the outer ligament in his right ankle tore and he had to pause for four weeks. In December 2007, meniscus damage was diagnosed in her left knee. After several operations, he could only be used again in the 2008/09 season. On February 22, 2009, he had to be replaced in the league game against MSV Duisburg after another torn ligament in his right ankle and was out for ten weeks.

In the election of Georgia's Footballer of the Year 2006 Ghwinianidze was chosen in seventh place. The fans of TSV 1860 voted Ghwinianidze at the end of 2006 the best lion in the 2006/2007 preliminary round .
