Mathias Christen (born August 18, 1987 in Vaduz ) is a Liechtenstein football player .

Career

society

In his youth, Mathias Christen played for FC Triesen from 1997 . He remained loyal to the club until 2005 when he moved to FC Balzers at the age of 18 . The trained fitness trainer began his professional career at the age of 21 in 2008 at FC Wil , to which he had switched from FC Balzers. In his first season he played 15 games in the Swiss Challenge League for FC Wil, in which he scored four goals. In July 2009, the league competitor FC Gossau took him under contract. Here he played three games (no goal) before the capital club FC Vaduz signed him on September 16, 2009. Christen signed a one-year contract there until June 30, 2010. At FC he wears the number 29 on his back.

Until 2011 he played at FC Vaduz. In February 2011, after being out of a club for 1 month, he moved to FC Linth 04. Here he was under contract until March 1, 2012. He then switched to USV Eschen-Mauren. After less than a year he left the club for Thailand.

He moved to Singhtarua FC in the Thai Premier League , which was then still called Thai Port FC. In January 2014 he returned to the Liechtenstein club FC Triesenberg. In the summer of 2014, Christen moved to Chur 97. After the 2014/2015 season he returned to FC Triesenberg.

Christen has been under contract with the 2nd team of FC Vaduz since March 1, 2016.

National team

Christen played his first international match at the age of 21 on August 20, 2008 in the 2-0 defeat by Albania when he came on for Andreas Gerster in the 46th minute . In the World Cup qualifier against Germany on September 6, 2008, he was in the starting line-up for the first time, but was replaced by Thomas Beck in the 75th minute .
