Mathias Renz

Mathias Renz (born December 1, 1969 ) is a German entrepreneur , business journalist and PR consultant .

Life

Renz's professional career began in 1986 with an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at a medium-sized industrial company. When he studied business administration at the University of Augsburg , he focused on investment and finance as well as auditing and controlling. He then worked for the shoe and outdoor needs manufacturer The Timberland Company and the radio station Antenne Bayern .

In the late 1990s he was a co-founder of Beachminton . The corresponding mark was registered by him and his colleagues Stephan and Thomas Heinle as well as Jürgen Cloos in September 1997 in Nice classes 28 and 41. The then trend sport was presented in 1998 - and according to Horizont also in 1999 - at the ISPO . A German championship was also held in Geretsried .

The associated company Beachminton existed in various legal forms as a GbR , OHG and AG . Renz led it for three years as managing partner, when it incarnated as a stock corporation, he was a co-partner on the supervisory board. The trademark rights to Beachminton have been held by Wolfratshausen-based MTS Sportartikel Vertriebs GmbH since 2012 .

After leaving Beachminton , Renz joined the specialist publisher GoingPublic Media in 2000 as an editor. There he was later, as the successor to Karim Serrar and predecessor of Andreas Uhde, from issue 9/2005 to issue 6/2006, editor-in-chief of the VentureCapital magazine . Since 2011 at the latest, he has primarily been managing the commercial aspects of the magazine as publishing director. In the fourth quarter of 2016, Renz was also appointed to the publisher's board of directors. There he is responsible for a. the central areas of human resources and production as well as the sub-area of venture capital / private equity .

Renz has also been active as a PR consultant for some time and offers various services through his MRPR editorial office .

Others

Renz belongs to the Geretsried sports club TUS Geretsried and is particularly active there in the badminton division. So he played in the 1999/2000 season in the fourth-class Bayernliga and in the 2010/2011 season in the sixth-class district league. In addition, he is a project manager on the board of the association for the 2014–2019 term of office.

For the football club DJK Waldram, which is also based in Geretsried, he occasionally works as a moderator, including at the benefit game against TSV 1860 Munich .

Renz is married and has two children.
