Mathias Sebastião Francisco Fernandes (born November 4, 1917 in Ilhas St. Matthias , Portugal ; † May 9, 1985 ) was Bishop of Mysore .

Life

Mathias Sebastião Francisco Fernandes received on 26 October 1944, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On November 16, 1963, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Bishop of Mysore. The Internuntius in India, Archbishop James Robert Knox , donated him episcopal ordination on February 3, 1964 ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Calcutta , Albert Vincent D'Souza , and the Coadjutor Bishop of Belgaum , Fortunato da Veiga Coutinho .

He participated in the third and four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.
