Matthew Jonathan Darey (* 29. November 1968 in Leicester ) is a British trance - DJ and musician .

Life

Matt Darey started his musical career in 1992 when he released his first production. He had his first successes in 1994 with the single Point Zero , which appeared under the pseudonym Li Kwan . In the following years he successfully produced various remixes (including for Kim Wilde , Binary Finary , WestBam and Delerium ). Some of his singles have made it into the UK Top 40 . His ex-girlfriend Marcella Woods was there several times as a guest singer.

On August 13, 2005 Darey made his debut with a radio show Nocturnal on the Internet radio station Digitally Imported . The show has been broadcast weekly since April 2006 and includes a one-hour live set by Darey and a guest mix in the second hour. Nocturnal is now broadcast on a total of 123 radio stations worldwide. In May 2007 he also started a monthly podcast called Nocturnal Sunshine .

In 2008 Matt Darey formed the band Urban Astronauts . The music project is assigned to the new genre Rocktronica , which tries to combine rock with electronic music .

Darey owns his own label called Darey Products , which publishes productions of himself and emerging talent. Throughout his career as a music producer, Darey has sold over two million albums and singles.
