This series was produced by the Swiss television DRS and the Bayerischer Rundfunk with 9 episodes until 1986 and then repeatedly broadcast on the ARD. Its aim was to promote acoustic perception skills in young children and also included a high level of musical entertainment in the afternoon television program.

He then took on further engagements in Europe, such as the position of guest conductor of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and from 1985 to 1990 the position of director of the Glasgow Contemporary Music Festival Musica Nova . He built a reputation for innovative programming and conducting world premieres by composers such as Toru Takemitsu , John Casken , James MacMillan and Wolfgang Rihm . In 1987 he took up his first residence in London ; from 1993 to 2000 he was director of the London Mozart Players .

Since 1990 he has conducted almost all the world's major symphony orchestras as a guest conductor, including those in Los Angeles, Toronto, London, Minnesota, Japan, the Salzburg Mozarteum , Leipzig and Saint Petersburg. Bamert is best known for his commitment to new music, the unknown music of the 18th century and the neglected music of all eras.
