Matthias Clausen (theologian)
Matthias Clausen (* 1972 ) is a German Protestant theologian and book author. He is theological consultant at the Institute for Faith and Science in Marburg and professor for evangelism and apologetics at the Tabor Evangelical University .
Life
Clausen studied Protestant theology in Wuppertal , Heidelberg and London . In 1999 he obtained a Master of Arts in systematic theology . In 2000 he completed his studies with the First Theological Examination. From 2000 to 2004 he was regional consultant for the university SMD of the student mission in Germany , after which he completed the vicariate in Essen . In 2006 he made his second theological exam. In 2006 he was a member of the German delegation at the “Younger Leaders' Gathering” of the Lausanne movement in Kuala Lumpur . In the same year he became a research assistant at the Institute for Research into Evangelism and Congregation Development (IEEG) in Greifswald , which is headed by Michael Herbst . In 2009 he received his doctorate in theology, and in 2010 he was a member of the German delegation at the third Lausanne Congress for World Evangelization in Cape Town . From 2009 to 2016 he also worked as a university evangelist for the SMD with half a position. In 2013 he took up the Karl Heim professorship for evangelism and apologetics at the Tabor Evangelical University in Marburg with half a position . Clausen's areas of research and activity are evangelistic homiletics , epistemology and apologetics and evangelism in postmodernism . Since October 2016 Clausen has also been theological advisor at the Institute for Faith and Science in Marburg.
Matthias Clausen was a speaker at the ProChrist live evangelism movement . In 2011 he was a speaker at JesusHouse .
Private
Matthias Clausen is married to his wife Karen. The couple has three children and lives in Marburg.
