Matthias Foremny

Matthias Foremny (* 1972 in Münster ) is a German conductor and university professor.

Live and act

Foremny's father was the composer and professor Stephan Foremny . He completed his studies in 1992–1998 in Detmold and Vienna. From 1998 to 2000 he was First Kapellmeister and Deputy General Music Director (GMD) at the Landestheater Detmold . He then moved to the Komische Oper in Berlin in the same position until 2003 . From 2003 to 2012 he was GMD and opera director at the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin . Matthias Foremmy has been the first permanent guest conductor at the Leipzig Opera since 2011 . From 2013 to 2019 he also worked as chief conductor of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra .

In 2014 Foremny took over a professorship for conducting and orchestral conducting at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music in Leipzig .

Foremny conducted now following Orchestra: Gewandhaus Orchestra , Staatskapelle Dresden , Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin , National Youth Orchestra , Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra , Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra Helsinki , WDR Symphony Orchestra , NDR Elbe Philharmonic Orchestra , NDR Radio Philharmonic Hanover , Warsaw Philharmonic , Zurich Chamber Orchestra , the Staatskapelle Weimar , MDR -Sinfonieorchester , Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg in the Staatsoper Hamburg , Deutsche Oper Berlin , Gürzenich-Orchester der Bühnen der Stadt Köln .
