Matthias Hattenberger (born November 30, 1978 in Munich ) is a former Austrian football player .

Career

Hattenberger began his career at FC Kufstein before he was signed by SV Wörgl in 2003 . At the beginning of 2004 he went to FC Kärnten for half a season , where he was able to book his first Bundesliga appearance, but then returned to Wörgl. For the 2005/2006 season he moved to FC Wacker Tirol , where he was active for three seasons. After the relegation of Innsbruck , Hattenberger moved to Vienna for Austria in 2008 and was a regular for the "Veilchen" team. In 2009 he won the ÖFB Cup with Austria .

In the summer of 2010, FK Austria Wien announced that it would not extend the contract with Hattenberger. Hattenberger moved to SV Grödig , who was playing in the first division at the time. He stayed there until July 2011. His last position took him to First Vienna FC 1894 , where he ended his playing career after a year.

Hattenberger is right-footed and was mainly used in defensive midfield . His father is the former Austrian national player Roland Hattenberger .
