Matthias Männer (* 1976 in Mitterteich ) is an artist from Germany .
life and work
Men creates installation and deals with painting . His works seem to have sprung from an imaginary world in which technoid and sometimes organic characters have gained the upper hand. In this fictional world in which nature is determined by technology , things rule over life. His works deal with reification and the material desires of our society today.
He lives and works in Munich and is co-founder of raum500 Projektraum . From 1998 to 2005 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich (with Axel Kasseböhmer and Markus Oehlen ).
In 2008 he received the Leonhard and Ida Wolf Memorial Prize for Fine Arts from the City of Munich .
