Matthias Sehling

Matthias Sehling (* 10. May 1959 in Munich ) is a German lawyer and former CSU - member of parliament .

Sehling is Roman Catholic and married. After his work as a member of the Bundestag, Matthias Sehling worked in the Bavarian Ministry of Social Affairs, from which he left in 2009.

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1978, Sehling did his military service in 1978/79. From 1979 to 1985 he studied law in Munich. He completed his studies with the second state examination in law.
In 1989 Sehling accepted a position as a lawyer in the Association of the Bavarian Metal Industry . In 1990/91 he was the managing director of the Employers' Association of Saxony. In 1991/94 he was involved as a social policy advisor and country manager of the health policy working group of the CSU (GPA). From 1999 to 2001 he was the head of the Bavarian State Representation of the Substitute Fund.
From 2001 until the federal elections in 2002, and from 2005 until he left the civil service in autumn 2009, he worked in the Bavarian Ministry of Social Affairs.

Political party

Sehling has been a member of the CSU since 1974, u. a. Chairman of the Munich Student Union , the Free Youth Press Germany eV and in the local association of the JU Vaterstetten , deputy district chairman of the JU Ebersberg / Obb., Local chairman of the CSU Neuhausen-Nymphenburg in Munich.

Offices

Sehling was Deputy Federal Chairman of the Sudeten German Landsmannschaft (until February 2008) and Vice-President of the Association of Expellees , also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Egerland-Kulturhaus- Stiftung Marktredwitz and a member of the Egerland Gmoi z 'Munich and the Ackermann community . Until May 2006 he was also Secretary General of the Sudeten German Council . His father Hans Sehling comes from Schönfeld in the Elbogen / Egerland district . At the age of 16, his father fled his homeland in 1945, the grandparents and all relatives were expelled from the Sudetenland in 1945/46 .

Sehling was a member of the German Bundestag from October 2002 to September 2005.
