Matthias Stuhlberger

Matthias Stuhlberger (born January 29, 1919 in Wartenberg ; † August 23, 1995 there ) was a German politician ( CSU ).

Life path

Stuhlberger first attended the humanistic grammar school in Scheyern and then the cathedral grammar school in Freising , where he graduated from high school in 1939. Immediately afterwards, he was drafted into the labor service. From 1942 to 1943 he studied mechanical engineering at the TH Munich . Then he served as an officer on the Russian front and was captured there. After he was released from captivity, after having passed the master craftsman's examination, he took over his parents' butcher's and farm for his fallen brother. In 1949 he married Angela Oberloher. The marriage has two children. In 1980 he handed over the business to his son Ludwig.

Political career

  • In 1948 he became the first mayor of the Wartenberg market and held the office until 1984. Gustav Weltrich became his successor .
  • 1958 to 1974 he won the Landtag voting district in Erding and was therefore a member of the Bavarian Landtag from the 4th to the 7th electoral term. There he was mainly active in the Committee on Food and Agriculture (4th – 7th electoral term), the Committee on Petitions and Complaints (5th electoral term) and in the Committee on Civil Service Law and Pay (6th and 7th electoral terms).
  • From 1960 to 1990 he was a member of the district council in Erding.
  • On May 1, 1966, he joined the CSU parliamentary group and stayed there until April 30, 1990; the reasons for leaving on May 1, 1990 are currently unclear.
