Matthias von Randow

Matthias Maria Christian Stephan Gero von Randow (born May 30, 1959 in Koblenz ) is a former political official and State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development .

Life

Born the eighth of ten children of civil engineers Hans-Hermann von Randow and Ingeborg Scheffel, Matthias von Randow completed vocational training as a retail salesman in Bad Honnef after graduating from high school in 1978 ; He then studied economic , constitutional history , sociology and political science in Bonn and Rome from 1983 to 1988 . He completed his studies in Bonn in 1989 with a Magister Artium .

DGB, SPD

After graduating in 1989, he became project manager for European educational work at the DGB-Bildungswerk Less than two years later, Matthias von Randow became head of division on the federal executive board of the German Federation of Trade Unions .

From 1996 to 1998 he was head of department at the SPD party executive.

Federal Ministry of Transport

In 1999 Matthias von Randow became head of the management team in the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development . From 2004 to January 2008 he was Head of the Policy Department.

In January 2008 he was appointed State Secretary responsible for the policy department, railways , aviation and aerospace , waterways , waterways , road construction and road traffic . On July 1, 2011, he moved to the Federal Association of the German Aviation Industry as General Manager .
