Site plan of the nature reserve

Large parts of the river valleys of the Rehmerloh-Mennighüffer Mühlenbach are under nature protection. The 226 hectare nature reserve "Rehmerloh-Mennighüffer Mühlenbachtal" is located in Kirchlengern and Löhne . It is the largest nature reserve in the Herford district . The stream has been protected for a length of almost 10 km since 1995. The nature reserve "Rehmerloh-Mennighüffer-Mühlenbach" is a natural and widely ramified sieve system typical of the Ravensberger hill country. The Siektal is pronounced as a box valley. In the floodplains, alder trees and swamp forests grow . There are also beech or oak forests on the slope . The wet and humid meadows are home to numerous endangered plant species. A population of the Great Mouse-eared Mouse is at home at Ulenburg Castle .
