Maui Gayme Anguita (born October 30, 1983 in Papeete , Tahiti , French Polynesia ) is a Chilean ski racer .

biography

Through his Chilean mother, Gayme and his older brother Mikael came to alpine skiing. Because of his speed, his preferred disciplines are downhill and super-G , in which he is also one of the best ski racers in South America. In 2006 he became the Chilean downhill champion. Besides, Gayme is an avid golfer.

The Chilean mainly competes in FIS races and starts in the FIS South American Cup. He rarely takes part in World Cup races , including the 2007 Lauberhorn race, which is steeped in tradition .

Gayme has already represented the Chilean Ski Association at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002 , Turin 2006 and Vancouver 2010 as well as at three Alpine World Ski Championships ( 2003 in St. Moritz , 2005 in Bormio and 2007 in Åre ). He started mainly in his special disciplines Downhill and Super-G. The best Olympic result was 42nd place in the 2006 Olympic downhill run in Sestriere , the best World Cup placement was also a 42nd place at the 2003 World Cup downhill.
