Max Eschle
Max Eschle (born August 21, 1890 in Munich , † 1979 in Prien am Chiemsee ) was a German commercial artist .
life and career
Eschle studied at the Munich School of Applied Arts under Julius Diez and from 1911 to 1915 at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts . Together with Franz Paul Glass , Hans Ibe (Johann Baptist Maier), Otto Ottler , Tommi Parzinger and Valentin Zietara, he was a member of the second group of Die Sechs , one of the first artist groups to market advertising orders, especially posters.

In 1935 the Deutsche Reichspost issued three postage stamps designed by Eschle on the occasion of the Olympic Winter Games in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and in 1936 another eight postage stamps for the Olympic Summer Games in Berlin. In addition to numerous posters for events, there are well-known works by the Sonthofener Gebirgsjäger or the enamel sign Hamsterin, be ashamed! who denounced hamster purchases . He also produced a number of advertising stamps , as they were common and common before the First World War, as well as various oil paintings of mostly Bavarian or Austrian landscapes, some of which were printed as postcards. In 1936 he designed the poster for the Nazi propaganda exhibition "The Bolshevism", which took place in the Deutsches Museum .
